Russam GMS, an interim management provider, has launched an international division to meet the growing demand for British interim managers to work overseas.
Headquartered in London, Russam International will source interim specialists from all industry sectors with expertise of working in challenging overseas markets. With a database of 12,000 interims and extensive search capabilities, the company says it can provide interims who are able to handle the demanding issues associated with operating and developing businesses in global markets.
According to a recent report from Russam, ‘The International Interim Market 2012’, even though international assignments make up around 11% of the overall interim market, out of the 460 interims who responded to Russam’s survey, eight out of 10 had completed assignments overseas.
Jason Atkinson, managing director of Russam Interim, says: “The report highlights a significant amount of international projects being undertaken by British interims, particularly in Europe.
“However, just like in the UK, international firms are recruiting based on competence and experience. They want people with proven international business experience, and a ‘global outlook’ who can integrate into their business and culture and deliver the goods. This is the key to a successful assignment in the UK or overseas.”
In terms of future growth, Asia was considered the number one market, followed by the BRIC countries and then Western Europe.
Russam GMS is a founder member of The Taplow Group, an international executive search and interim management group that it works with closely to find resident national interims within specific countries. As a result of this partnership, Russam International can deliver interim managers in 20 different countries.
Atkinson will lead the international division. He says: “Currently around 11% of the interim management market is comprised of international assignments and it is growing fast.
“Many UK companies need help from specialists with specific experience, an understanding of international markets and great language skills to lead their international expansion projects. A growing number of international firms are also looking to hire UK interims for specific projects. We can supply the right people on both accounts to work virtually anywhere in the world.”
