Agencies make websites work harder for them

Specialist scientific and technical recruitment consultancy Paramount Recruitment is among the latest to take steps to increase traffic to its site via search engine optimisation.

Birmingham-based Paramount has worked with Optimal Internet to launch a new site which will enable it to be instantly recognised as a specialist in the pharmaceutical, scientific and technology markets and be easier to find for candidates.

Daniel Clifton, director of Paramount, told Recruiter: “Traditionally, websites have been places for information. We wanted to do more than that and were looking to use it to create more presence for ourselves and ensure candidates could easily find us.”

Paramount has implemented Optimal Internet’s OptimalRec platform, which is run as a managed service. A key part of Optimal Internet’s strategy is search engine optimisation, which means that job ads are presented in such a way that they come close to the top of relevant searches.

Partnership arrangements with sites such as job search engine Workcircle.com also help to drive traffic to a site.

Bruce Stander, managing director of Optimal Internet, said it is still early days for Paramount but told Recruiter that companies are getting five times back what they invest in the service.

“Agencies are turning websites into business tools,” he said. “They’ve invested in job boards and now they want to invest in their own.”

Paramount has only been live for a week but already a lot of their key words are appearing on the first page of Google.

ASC Connections, based in the Midlands, which provides permanent and temporary and contract recruitment services, has also launched a new site which runs on the OptimalRec platform.
