All systems go for Kelly Interaction
Morrissey: existing strength
Kelly Interaction is steaming ahead with its plans for the ex-Kelly Services branches, which it acquired in March.
Richard Morrissey, managing director of Kelly Interaction, told Recruiter the company was already interviewing
new staff, and would shortly begin a rebranding exercise that would eventually cover all of its 31 ex- Kelly Service branches.
The new branches extend as far as Bolton and York to the North, and Plymouth and Worthing to the South. The
aim was the complete integration of the two businesses, he said. Kelly Interaction employs 145 staff.
Morrissey said the plan was to build on the existing strength of Kelly’s industrial, driving and commercial
businesses, by adding specialisms such as finance, engineering and IT. “This is the best opportunity in recruitment
at the moment,” he added.
Morrissey said the company was interviewing candidates for both consultancy and management roles, using rec-to-recs and press advertising. He said they were looking for staff who were specialists in areas such as finance, engineering and IT to work in branches where the company currently
lacks that expertise.
This would allow the company to build on Kelly Services’ traditional strengths in industrial, driving and commercial. “We are hoping to progress
some of these to offers fairly quickly,” said Morrissey. Some of the new staff would replace Kelly Services staff who had been looking for
jobs before the acquisition.
Morrissey said the company’s rebranding exercise, including a new logo and signage, was set to begin in a number of new branches in
locations where the leases on old premises had expired. “We will be looking to roll out the launch for the new operation over the next 60-
days,” he added.
Morrissey, formerly managing director at Jark Industrial, who joined Kelly Interaction in February, said there was no time scale for the integration of the two businesses. “It will happen when the business is ready to take it on,” he said.
