Following an extensive procurement process, the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) is in talks with the Capita Group to transform the efficiency of the processing and payments of dental claims and a managed IT service to support the Authority, its current activities and drive future growth.
The Dental Contract Support Service (DCSS) involves the business processing and payment of around 40m claims made annually by dentists in England and Wales for NHS dental treatment administered.
The Managed IT Infrastructure (MITI) service aims to transform and manage the IT infrastructure supporting the NHSBSA and its activities, including dental services, prescription payments and counter fraud.
It is hoped the initial seven-year contract, valued at around £100m, will be finalised later this year.
