Karen Furminger, former HR manager of importer, processor and wholesaler of fresh fish and seafood New England Seafood, has joined Goldteam Recruitment as general manager.
Furminger previously held HR roles at Tesco, including training manager and store personnel manager.
Furminger says: “I had been looking for a new challenge and having audited Goldteam as a recruitment supplier on many occasions, I just couldn’t fault them - so I decided to join the team. In a sector where recruiters’ standards can often be questionable to say the least, Goldteam really stood out in terms of both their ethical standards –and their unshakeable commitment to compliance and worker welfare.”
Elsewhere, Media recruiter, pfj, has appointed four new consultants.
Alison Templeton joins from La Crème; James Simpson from Optimum Resourcing; Gemma Aherne from Impact Creative; and Abigail Selwyn was previously at Initiate.
Paul Farrer, chairman at pfj, says: “For the last 12 months we have been battening down the hatches, made redundancies and not replaced leavers. It is clear to us that the economy has stabilised and in July and August we have seen increased activity in traditionally quieter months.
“We have been very successful in winning PSL tenders but relatively few of those companies have been giving anything to recruiters this year. At last we are now seeing our clients call in with requirements, so people can join us in an improving environment.”
