As the International Labour Organization (ILO) predicts that global unemployment could rise by 51m, hospitality recruiters are actually looking at growing their business overseas.

As the International Labour Organization (ILO) predicts that global unemployment could rise by 51m, hospitality recruiters are actually looking at growing their business overseas.

Mark Norris, chief executive at Profile, told Recruiter that there are currently great opportunities overseas.

“You have to look at people skill sets. Over the next year or two, it is going to be about Brazil, India and China (BRIC). You will have to work out where the skills are lacking. Specialist people should be looking at the emerging economies.”

Jackie Sterry, director, mise en place, adds: “We are busier with international placements. The international clients are often in London and we meet them when they are in London but we will still place them in places where they have other operations. Candidates are also more open to relocating at the moment.”
