The IT management team is crucial to the survival of companies, according to Whitehead Mann’s Chief Information Officers (CIO) Practice.
In the firm’s CIO Practice News, Whitehead Mann advises companies on steps to take to help businesses respond not only to the downturn, but also to the plateauing and eventual upturn:
• Invest in the senior management team
• CIOs must respond sensibly to IT budgets
• Recessions drive the quicker adoption of new technologies; companies must have the skills to master agile, responsive applications development
• CIO/business alignment is crucial; the CIO’s brand with the Board is key if they are to secure the funding and support needed
• Invest in the senior IT team
The statement concludes: “Now is the time to get in shape and to look at your IT management capability, if you are to steal a march on your competitors.”
The Whitehead Mann CIO Practice has also announced the move of senior research associate Dan Cullen from our London team to help build the team in Singapore, and Jonathan Choy has been recruited as consultant to head-up Hong Kong.
