The gender pay gap in marketing roles has all but disappeared except at senior levels, according to research from The Chartered Institute of Marketing.
The Institute’s latest marketing rewards salary survey reveals female junior executives are earning as much as their male counterparts for the first time since records began.
However, the gender pay gap for senior marketing directors increased by 3.2%, from 13% to 16.3%, and the average salary for female marketing directors has decreased slightly over the past 12 months and stands at £62,750 (compared to £65,000 in 2010). Male marketing directors’ average salary of £75,000 is unchanged from 2010 figures.
