Media & marketing: pfj acquires RPCushing

Media and sales recruiter pfj has acquired a majority interest in RPCushing, a provider of recruitment solutions to the market research and analysis & information sectors.

Media and sales recruiter pfj has acquired a majority interest in RPCushing, a provider of recruitment solutions to the market research and analysis & information sectors.

This is a further development to pfj’s vision of developing a global network of specialist recruitment companies which started last year with the acquisition of ICUR, the Sydney-based media specialist.

Paul Farrer, chairman of pfj, told Recruiter: “RPCushing has been a highly recognised recruitment brand for a number of years and has a great profile in market research, analysis and information. Our vision is to develop a global network of leading specialist recruitment companies. Therefore, with RPCushing operating in such a parallel sector to pfj, it is a natural fit with all the hallmarks of a discipline you can take global.”

Farrer says “business is tough and may yet get tougher,” but for those who have built up cash reserves and have a strong brand there “are always opportunities”.

He adds that pfj is always speaking to companies where there is a “good fit”, with this being its second acquisition in the last eight months.

“This investment by pfj demonstrates the strength of our service and gives us a bigger platform to develop and grow our services on a global basis,” says Paul Cushing, managing director of RPCushing.

RPCushing has 16 staff.
