Recruiters see signs of housing recovery

Recruiters are benefiting from early signs of a recovery in the housing market.

Recruiters are benefiting from early signs of a recovery in the housing market.

Figures from from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) show that the number of homes sold in the UK rose by 40% in March on the previous month.

Leah Clifford, consultant at commercial recruiter Top Type Personnel, told Recruiter that some estate agents were looking to recruit.

“We think estate agents are picking up. We have had temps in with estate agents. My next port of call is to go into the new builds and see if we can’t place some receptionists. There seems to be more activity on that level.”

Steve King, director at estate agent recruitment firm Kings Permanent Recruitment, adds: “There has been a pick up in the market since February. There has been a noticeable improvement. Developers seem to be buying property and I think it is a lot healthier in recruitment. I have just had my best month in three years.”
