North-West based Scantec Personnel, a technical, engineering, scientific and commercial recruiter, is reorganising its management team in anticipation of an upturn in trading in 2010.

The changes will see founder John Robinson move to chairman, while Peter Bates, Scantec’s joint founder, takes over from him as managing director. Adam Spelman is promoted to main board director and Colin McNeil is promoted to divisional director.

“Twenty years of trading is a massive achievement of which we are hugely proud,” Robinson says. “However, our focus is the future and we must keep thrusting the firm forward. This strengthening of the management team will renew our determination, focus and desire to grow the business’ turnover to £100m and become one of the top 50 UK recruitment agencies within five years.”

Robinson said the changes will come into effect from 1 January.

“We have weathered the recession a lot better than most within our industry. Earlier this year we signed a five-year deal with the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE), a long-standing client. We are determined to build on that success and the general solid performance of the business this year.”
