Simple seeks digital savvy marketer

Simple is seeking a marketer “truly at home in the digital environment”, according to Alex Pike, Simple marketing director.

Through its Search for a Simple Star online recruitment campaign, candidates are invited to promote themselves online through sites like Facebook to gain support and crucial votes – similar to any election campaign – as a stepping stone to secure a place at Beauty Boot Camp.

This second stage of the process will include interviews to select the successful candidate.

The company is looking for creativity rather than marketing experience. The role will encompass everything within online marketing including being company spokesperson through blogs, forums, Twitter and Facebook and developing appropriate campaigns that utilize online to raise awareness of Simple and its products.

Pike told Recruiter: “It made obvious sense for us to use solely online media to recruit for this position - we want someone who is truly at home in the digital environment and uses it instinctively as their means of communication.

“Initial success has been enormous. Candidates are interacting with us strongly and the more savvy of them are ahead of the game with public votes, really utilising Facebook and Twitter to their advantage. We’ve already received more than double our expected applications within the first three weeks of the campaign.”

The campaign runs until September.
