FINANCIALS: Empresaria profit on APAC and cost control

Staffing group Empresaria saw an operating profit of £4.4m in 2012, up from £2.8m the previous year, despite a fall in group revenues, with the company saying it was boosted by tight cost control and a particularly strong Asia-Pacific region.

Staffing group Empresaria saw an operating profit of £4.4m in 2012, up from £2.8m the previous year, despite a fall in group revenues, with the company saying it was boosted by tight cost control and a particularly strong Asia-Pacific region.
Adjusted operating profit grew by 12% in the UK, but dropped 23% in Continental Europe. Across the rest of the world, it was up 33%, with the Asia-Pacific division within this seeing 50% growth.
Revenues of £194.3m were down 7% (or 4% adjusted for fluctuations in currency) from 2011’s figure of £208.9m. UK revenues, representing just under a third of group activities, dropped slightly from £66m to £66.5m.
The firm’s annual report will be posted to shareholders next month, and will be made available on the recruiter's website.
