Jason Cartwright has moved from Randstad to become chief executive officer at healthcare recruitment firm Healthcare Australia (HCA), part of beleaguered company Healthcare Locums (HCL).

Current HCA managing director Andy McRae has stepped down from his role and the HCL board, returning to the UK.

Cartwright joins the business with over 22 years in the recruitment industry, having previously been the group director with responsibility for healthcare at staffing firm Randstad in Australia and New Zealand.

As recruiter.co.uk reported last week, shareholders of the recruiter could be in for a severe ‘haircut' under a recommended cash offer for the company that would pay out 0.75p a share - a significant drop from their high-flying past.
