UK innovation agency has ‘record’ £440m to spend this year

A “record” £440m will be available for innovative businesses this year from the Technology Strategy Board, the UK’s innovation agency sponsored by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS).

BIS says this is the highest level of funding ever available, an increase of over £50m on last year.
And universities and science minister David Willetts notes that over 60% of funding has historically gone to SMEs.
The 2013-14 Delivery Plan, setting out the Board's funding priorities for the coming year, is available online. This includes plans for industries including health, transport, food and space.
