Business development gets into gear at recruitment firm Empiric

Specialist recruiter Empiric reckons it is in pole position to develop new business and reach out to new candidates – thanks to a Formula 1 car with a racing simulator in the lobby of its newly-opened offices.

Based in the City, the company also has a bar and coffee shop, and golf simulator in what director Steve Brown describes as its “client engagement area”.
However, this is not just fun and games for the City recruiter, as all play a key role in its business strategy. “People can appreciate that it’s not just boys’ toys, there’s actually quite a lot of thought that’s gone into it, ” Brown says. See the video below for more on how this works:
Doesn’t the space just provide a good space for distraction? "Obviously the first week in the office the staff had a go, but past that point it’s been defined that these are business development tools, they’re to be used in that way, they’re not there to be a distraction," Brown says.
Comments managing director Sam Kamyar: “Recruitment boils down to introducing the right people to each other. Our new office is a totally new concept in how a recruiter can facilitate this process.”
Last week, recruiter.co.uk the launch of Empiric’s sister company LifeStar, which will recruit into the pharmaceutical industry.
