A spokesperson for John Lewis tells recruiter.co.uk that all applications are through the company's website, which allows jobseekers to apply for vacancies at specific locations.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an assessment centre, where will take part in group exercises and have a short one-to-one interview.
Start dates vary from shop to shop, however the majority of temporary Christmas staff will start throughout October and November.
Laura Whyte, personnel director at John Lewis, says: “We’re not only looking for people who can provide excellent levels of customer service in our shops and call centres, but also for individuals who understand the important role that our distribution centres play in making sure the Christmas shopping experience is as smooth as possible for customers.”
