Employment within the creative industries has increased by more than 10% in the past two years, according to the Department for Culture Media and Sport (DCMS).
The DCMS’s ‘Creative Industries: Focus on Employment’ report said that there were 1.71m jobs in the creative industries in 2013, an increase of 10.1% since 2011.
The 2013 figures represent a 5.6% share of the UK’s total jobs, an increase from 5.2% in 2011. Job growth across all industries in the UK from 2011 to 2013 was just 2.4%.
