The US economy added 288,000 jobs in June and the unemployment rate declined to 6.1%, the latest figures from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics has shown.

The US economy added 288,000 jobs in June and the unemployment rate declined to 6.1%, the latest figures from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics has shown.
The number of long-term unemployed, those without work for 27 weeks or more, also declined by 293,000 in June to 3.1m.
Job gains were widespread, led by employment growth in professional and business services, retail trade, food services and drinking places, and healthcare.
