Cambridge-based games studio Jagex is moving in a new direction when it comes to recruiting staff – by guiding young talent and helping those people get into the industry.
Recruitment manager Sara McNaught said there were “thousands of 21-year-olds that have just graduated, knocking on the door wanting to get in [to the industry]”, but there were only a few positions available for the best candidates.
The company has created a new position within its recruitment team, a talent community co-ordinator, to focus on spotting young talent and helping people get into the industry.
Recent graduate Connor Thompson, who has had a life-long passion for games, was awarded the role and joined the team this week.
