The National Hockey League (NHL), US and Canada’s professional ice hockey league, is recruiting ‘concussion spotters’, according to The Washington Post

The paper says the league is to hire 60 independent ‘spotters’, who will look for signs of concussion in players during matches, in an effort to make the inherently dangerous game that little bit safer.

NHL games are played at 30 different arenas, each of which will have two spotters – one dedicated to each team on the ice. They will be tasked with spotting and communicating any signs of concussion to the team.

The spotters reportedly don’t need medical training as they will not be making a diagnosis.

Availability continues to rise for both perm and temp candidates

November saw increased availability of workers for the ninth straight month of the year, countered by lingering economic uncertainty and hesitancy to commit to new hires.
