An Indian Railways recruitment effort to create a more inclusive workforce and bring in more disabled workers has resulted in an exercise in exclusion, the Times of India reports.
Recruitment tests were held last week on the second and third floor of a New Delhi building with no ramps or lifts, leaving some people to drag themselves upstairs, or be carried by guardians.
Railway officials have since apologised and offered inconvenienced candidates the chance to resit.
Officials reportedly admitted to “some problems” at 10 of its 142 testing centres countrywide.
More than 450 mostly clerical roles were on offer.
