Global specialist recruiter PageGroup has appointed Steve Hallam as managing director of Scotland.

He succeeds Jamie Newman who, after 24 years with the recruiter, is to retire in January.

Newman joined Michael Page Finance in 1992 in Nottingham, and after several relocations and different management roles across the UK, he was appointed senior managing director for the Scottish business in 2013.

Hallam joined the company in 2001 and was appointed managing director of Page Personnel Secretarial & Business Support and Human Resources last year. He also took on additional responsibility of PageGroup Ireland earlier this year.
