LinkedIn has unveiled a number of improvements to its endorsements feature aimed at making it easier for recruiters to identify top candidates on the professional network.

The changes, outlined on a LinkedIn blog yesterday, aim to ensure members are updating their profiles with the relevant skills, as well as enabling recruiters to see who is giving the endorsements. They come hot on the heels of last month’s launch of LinkedIn Learning.

The key changes are as follows:

  • Recruiters viewing member profiles will see endorsements made by mutual connections, colleagues and people who have themselves been endorsed for the particular skills
  • Members will be prompted to endorse their connections for skills they themselves are knowledgeable about, meaning the right connections are more likely to validate professionals for relevant skills

LinkedIn added the changes would soon be available on both the desktop and mobile versions of LinkedIn.
