Coronation Street is on the lookout for new scriptwriters for the iconic soap

Were you on the front line of protests when the Weatherfield One (better known as Deidre Barlow) was jailed for a crime she did not commit?
Or did you guess the final outcome of Richard Hill’s murderous antics surrounding poor Gail and her family?
We could have just the opportunity for you. That’s because the Manchester Evening News is reporting Coronation Street bosses are seeking would-be writers to take part in a ‘Storyliner workshop’ for the soap.
While there isn’t a guaranteed job at the end of the workshop, successful participants will be in a prime position to be taken on by the soap.
Applicants will need to take notes from the producer, redraft storylines, as well as assist the writers, script editors and production team on the show. Candidates must have excellent writing skills and a keen eye for detail, along with proven experience in an editorial role in a drama department.
The closing date for applications is 6 February ahead of successful candidates being invited to attend the workshop on 26 February at Coronation Street’s studios on Trafford Wharf Road in Manchester.
