Court of Appeal rules on side of Capita regarding enhanced paternity pay

A Court of Appeal ruling involving a division of business outsourcing provider Capita has far reaching consequences for whether statutory paternity pay should be enhanced for fathers.
The ruling relates to the cases of Ali v Capita Customer Management and Hextall v Chief Constable of Leicester Police, which were recently heard jointly by the Court of Appeal. The cases rested on whether it is unlawful discrimination on the basis of sex for men to be paid less on shared parental leave than mothers are paid on statutory maternity leave.
