Skills programme celebrates successes in Yorkshire

The Skills Support for the Workforce Programme has supported nearly 600 businesses across York, North Yorkshire and East Riding.

Ending at the end of this month, it has driven significant financial growth and increased productivity for hundreds of SMEs across the region’s key priority sectors.

Some 98% of employers would recommend SSW to other businesses having completed the training.

Delivered by Calderdale College working in partnership with specialist local and regional training providers, the training was made possible through funding from the European Social Fund (ESF) and the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA).

Including support such as team working, vocational qualifications and technical skills, the SSW delivered specialised courses across the key priority sectors in the Yorkshire region.

The SSW programme was co-financed by the European Social Fund (ESF) – an EU established fund to help local areas stimulate economic development through skills and job creation.
