Recruiter entrepreneur Moshiri makes it on to The Apprentice

Fed up with the winter weather? Looking forward to saying jog on to January?
Well, banish those winter blues and break out the vuvuzelas. It’s that time again for the recruitment process of all recruitment processes to begin, as the BBC’s The Apprentice programme kicks off this Thursday [30 January 2025].
And the recruitment industry has another candidate for us to cheer on! Following on from Flo Edwards’ appearance in the last series (where she just missed out on the final), Melica Moshiri (pictured below) from Worthing in West Sussex, founder of AI tech recruitment firm SkillTorch, has thrown her hat into the ring to try and win the £250k investment and partnership with entrepreneur Lord Sugar.

Having graduated with a Law in Business degree, Moshiri joined sales recruitment and training specialist Pareto Law. After a number of other moves, she relocated to Los Angeles and then Orange County in the US to open an office with a UK recruitment agency.
Returning to the UK, Moshiri founded SkillTorch in 2022, specialising in providing executive search and embedded talent solutions to businesses in the AI and emerging technology sectors. “I’m so proud to be representing the recruitment community,” Moshiri told Recruiter.
She added that as well as expanding SkillTorch and winning new clients, “I have recently launched one-to-one coaching to help aspiring or existing recruiters to amplify their sales or recruiting game”.
Recruiter will be following Moshiri’s progress throughout the series and – hopefully – right to the very end when Lord Sugar will say “You’re hired”. Stay tuned with us to find out…!
