Demand for temporary workers in the US is expected to rise 20.3% on a seasonally adjusted basis in Q3 of 2010 when compared with the same period in 2009, according to the Palmer Forecast.

Q2 demand rose by 16.5% ahead of expectations of 10.8%.

The increase was attributed to stronger than expected GDP growth and slightly larger gains in labour productivity.

Simon Church has stepped down as group business development director at technology staffing specialist ReThink Recruitment.

The group says Church intends to resign as a director to pursue ambitions outside of the group, with effect from a date to be agreed but is expected to be near the end of this year and will remain with ReThink until such time.  

Technical and engineering recruiter Morson says that despite a challenging trading environment, its business model has resulted in good customer retention and new business wins.

In a trading statement, the company says the trading performance of the group for the first half of the financial year has been in line with directors’ expectations.

Almost half of UK recruiters are in good health, according to Plimsoll’s latest Industry Analysis of 1,000 companies.
