Retirement prospects are improving slightly among recruiters, according to research from Clifton Asset Management (CAM).

The research shows that even though 77% of business owners say their retirement is further away now than it was a year ago, this is down from 80% three months ago.

Four in 10 jobseekers aged between 24-30 are unlikely to vote, according to research from CV-Library.

The poll aligns with Electoral Commission findings that only 44% of this demographic were registered to vote last year.

The number of employment offers made in the financial services sector in April was up 12% on the previous month, according to pre-employment screening firm Powerchex.

The growth was driven mainly by hedge funds, with a massive 93% increase in offers compared to March. Stockbrokerage and insurance firms also showed moderate improvements, up 23% and 12% respectively.

The improvement in US under-employment has halted in May, according to Gallup.
