Executive search recruiter MRINetwork Worldwide has opened its first office in Vietnam.

The new office will specialise in the financial and construction industries, telecommunications, utilities, FMCG and manufacturing.

There has been a mixed response to a survey of IT professionals which expected skills gaps in the sector to widen.

Recruiters were commenting on the IT Job Board survey, which says 72% of respondents expect the shortfall to increase.

Woolworths’ brand strength will be a boon to the online retailer, according to retail recruiters.

Net fee income at technical recruiter Matchtech Group increased by 8% to £16.5m in the six months ending 31 January 2009  compared to the same period a year ago.

Net fee income from contract placements was up 13% to £11.5m. However, permanent fees were virtually unchanged from the same period last year at £5m. NFI  in Q1 rose 13% but this slowed to 3% in Q2.

The international multi-sector recruiter has announced a suspension of its share dividends. 

Carl Camden, president and chief executive, says: “The board has determined that the suspension of the cash dividend is prudent given the economic turmoil the global economy is presently experiencing and its impact on our business.”

The Home Office has announced the biggest fall in Eastern and Central European workers registering in the UK in five years.
