An online auction for the European print industry has been launched, following a successful seven-week trial. 58k.com (www-europe.58k.com) claims to be the industry’s first Internet auction site and is planning launches in France and Germany later this year.
A late burst of interest has prompted the organisers of this year’s Kelly’s Awards for Excellence in Purchasing and Supply to extend the deadline for entries to 4 July. The prestigious award scheme, now in its second year, is supported by CIPS and Supply Management.

Subtitled "A comprehensive guide for professionals in industry", at 937 pages, The Manufacturing Manager certainly lives up to the former. But author David Crabtree doesn't rely on endless case studies and management hype. Instead, he presents his subjects in a very comprehensible way.
