The Forum of Private Business (FPB) has welcomed news that the government is due to implement major reform to the public procurement system.

The system is the one through which UK firms do business with the government, although the FPB says the government must ensure it conducts business on the right terms.

Job board reed.co.uk has launched a new ’£50k+’ channel to match jobseekers to highly paid roles.

The new section contains more than 8,500 permanent, contract and interim roles across 36 industry sectors, all paying a minimum of £50,000 a year.

All jobs advertised on reed.co.uk with an annual salary of £50,000 or more will now be automatically listed within the new £50k+ area.

It’s business as usual at Red Commerce following its management-backed buyout, according to chief executive Richard Vercesi.

Last week, Red Commerce finalised the buyout, from previous owners Inflexion, supported by private equity firm Dunedin for £44m.

Vercesi says this is a secondary management buyout and still under private equity backing.

Employment markets around the world appear to be stablising, according to the latest global snapshot survey from Antal International.

The survey shows global hiring levels rose slightly, with 52% of respondents recruiting at professional and managerial level in comparison to 50% in February. The same number (52%) of organisations intend to hire in the coming quarter.
